In October, GE united women with world renowned designers to reinvent the mammography experience.
As part of a larger $1 billion commitment to cancer, GE invited women to share their mammography experiences via this four-week design installation. Patients, designers, students and thought leaders participated in the dialogue through a series of moderated discussions and workshops in this space. This installation brought together collaborators from the medical, design, non-profit and corporate worlds to explore new and inventive approaches to mammography. Key partners included IDEO, Behance, Steelcase, Mayo Clinic, Memorial Sloan-Kettering, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Bliss, Kiehl's and Victoria's Secret.
These efforts have culminated in the creation of an optimized mammography experience, which GE plans to pilot in collaboration with a hospital partner in 2012.
